Seester is getting hitched!

She's going to the chapel and she's going to get married

Today is the day that starts the festivities for one of my best friends weddings! I couldn't be more excited and happy for her as she is about to embark on an exciting adventure and new chapter of life. What a beautiful, indescribable gift marriage is and I can't wait for my sweet friend to experience the blessing of it. Throughout the years we have been friends, I have created so many, many fun, crazy, interesting, wild, sweet memories with this girl and I'm honored to be able to stand next to her on such a big moment in her life to create another unforgettable memory together. 

We have all sorts of fabulous little events planned and I'll be sure to have some pictures come Monday! Happy wedding weekend Seester! I love you!

Organized and Healthy

After having lounged around and eaten to our hearts desire, as if every meal were our last, for well over a week, MAC and I had to throw in the "unhealthy" towel and push ourselves to healthier eating habits. With a much needed cleanse and detox in order, MAC whipped us up these smoothies I have pictured below. We both love smoothies, and it is pretty much the go to choice for my Mr.'s breakfast, but normally we have a pink colored one, characteristic of a typical strawberry/banana smoothie. Not this time though; instead, this greenish/brown glass of chunkyness plopped down in front of me, not looking appetizing in the least. MAC insisted I had to give it a try ,and sure enough, looks can be deceiving because the smoothie was quite delish! Besides the strawberries and bananas, MAC added spinach leaves, flaxseed, oats, and yogurt; you really can't taste the spinach and its a great way to get in your veggies!

Besides eating healthy and getting back into the routine of exercising consistently, we also spent New Year's Day cleaning and organizing our home, cars and planners. I love the feeling you get when things are orderly and neat; nothing like a fresh start to 2013!

Love is the greatest of these

Happy New Year Y'all!

The Mr. and I enjoyed ringing in the new year with some new friends, fireworks, and a free concert by Sister Hazel (90's flashback), which was a blast! Before we head to my parents later this afternoon for some football and a New Year's Day dinner (gotta have some of those good ol collard greens for prosperity), MAC and I are starting off the year right with our new couples devotion called The Love Dare. Though we both have our individual quiet times, we are acutely aware of the necessity of having a devotion/prayer time together as a part of our daily lives to help grow, assist and strengthen our marriage. When we were at a bookstore in Savannah, we stumbled across this devotion by the group that created the movie Fireproof and thought this day by day book seemingly brimming with quality material would be a great guide and learning tool for us. Though this book is "technically" for couples, I was so encouraged and challenged by what we read today that I thought I'd share it with you, hopefully opening the doors to a fresh perspective and uplifting outlook on how we should all humbly attempt to embrace life in the new year. 

"Loving God and others is what life really is about. No matter who you are or what you do, it comes down to whether you'll live a life of love or not. And there is a vast difference between the two. One is priceless...and one is meaningless.

Love is the most important ingredient to any meaningful relationship. It is fundamental to true significance. Your quality of life is directly tied to the amount of love flowing in you and through you to others. Though it's often overlooked, love is infinitely more valuable than riches, fame, or honor. They will pass away, but love remains. You can be fulfilled without these, but not without love.

The absence of love leaves a devastating void. When it is not present, your spirituality becomes 

superficial, your benevolent deeds self-centered, and your sacrifices insincere. In any relationship where love is not your motivation, you can expect it to feel bland and unfulfilling-if not meaningless. When asked to identify life's greatest command, Jesus summed it up this way: to love God with all you are and to love your neighbor as yourself. Will you embrace a life of love?"
