Lilly Land

Over here in "Lilly Land" (aka-Palm Avenue), we have been knee deep in the latest of the Lilly Pulitzer Spring Accessories collection! Our store is literally overflowing with pink, green, and blue goodies that are just about the cutest darn things ever! We love when we get these shipments because it's like Christmas all over again, except with lovely Spring items! It holds the promise that warmer weather, beach days and outdoor parties are soon to come and boy do we need that on these gloomy January days! You NEED to rush out to your local Lilly store asap and snatch up some of these adorable little items; it will be sure to cheer you up and refresh you from the dreary days of winter!!

Here are some of my FAVES from the collection! A few of the fun print names are "Fan Dance", "Fallin in Love", "Gotta Regatta", and "Chum Bucket"; how could you not love those?!!

Monogram Moss Letters

Wedding creativity is in full swing and I'm currently trying to put together a little DIY project that involves monograms and moss! A good friend of mine did this for her wedding and hung the precious letters on the church doors at their ceremony! It was beyond cute and simply chic, so I had to steal the idea for my wedding! Our ceremony will be held at a gorgeous barn on an organic farm, so these moss letters will look oh so pretty hanging on the farm doors as guests enter the barn. It completely fits in with our shabby, chic farm style wedding! I swoon over monograms and am trying to incorporate them everywhere I can; Mac is being a good sport about it :) I am just getting beyond excited to see it all come together and to marry the love of my life!!!!

Here are a few pics I am drawing inspiration from :)

Bookworm Wednesday

If I didn't succeed in convincing you to read "Unbroken" yet, then I must try again! I just finished reading it and it is nothing short of incredible!! It is truly one of the most amazing, unbelievable stories I have ever read! READ IT!!!

I've been reading one book on marriage and I am about to pick up "Saving your Marriage Before it Starts" for Mac and I to read! It was recommended to me by a good friend who read it with her fiance' while they were engaged. It comes with a workbook for each of us and looks really good!

Happy Wednesday!

P.S. If anyone has any suggestions for a light, "girlyish" read, please do tell :)

Home Sweet Home

I'm extremely giddy right now with the anticipation of heading home after work tonight! Working retail limits me to only going home at the most once a month, so I cherish these weekends and soak em up for all they're worth! I always pick Mac up from school at VSU and Im just ready to throw my arms around him and give him a big ol bear hug (yes it's only been five days, but mind you any day away from him feels like an eternity)! We are going to work on a few more wedding plans, drink coffee on my parents porch, play some golf and just relax!

Probably one of the main things Im super excited about though (don't tell Mac or my fam haha) is getting to meet the newest addition to my family, Mr.Bear Williams, our new Yorkie pup!! Y'all, he has to be the absolute cutest lil thing EVER!!! I plan to play and cuddle with that adorable bundle of fur all weekend long! For those of you who don't know, my family has never really had a pet, so this is just a huge deal for us to finally have one! My mom has emailed me a few presh pics of lil Bear so I'll leave you with those, and Im sure I'll be back Monday with a kajillion more! Cheers to a weekend with loved ones and pups :)

Bookworm Wednesday

I know, I know, this isn't a book, but cut me some slack, I'm in full force wedding planning mode and it takes me a bit longer to finish up a novel at the moment (trying to get through Unbroken)! If you haven't yet heard, this online publication called "Matchbook Mag" is simply wonderful! It's a complete gold mine filled with all sorts of girly treasures! I know the rest of you are busy bees just like me, but when you find yourself with a moment to spare, you should definitely take a peek at this lovely gem! http://matchbookmag.com

Wedding Update!

Well, I don't know about y'all and how many of you readers have planned a wedding, but there is a LOT that goes into it! For the most part, it has been very enjoyable and I have been blessed with the most amazing fiance' to help me organize and plan; he's been there every step of the way! We told ourselves that we were going to soak up these precious months of being engaged and not stress about silly things, and I will say we have held true to that (for the most part haha) and have quite indulged in the fun that comes from cake testings (I may be biased, but ours is finger licking, lip smacking good!), picking out our wedding bands and meeting with a handful of vendors! Most every big decision has been made (ceremony and reception venue, caterer, dj, cakes, wedding bands, photographer), and they were all quite simple, but the last big one we are working on is a florist!

I set up two appointments with different florists, that way I could compare prices, and the first was a jaw dropping shocker! I know flowers are a major expense with weddings, but my fiance' and I are really trying to be wise with the money my dad has graciously given us, and the total the first florist gave us was NOT in our budget! Mac (we'll start to call my fiance' this because that's one of his many nicknames I've lovingly bestowed upon him) and I were a little disheartened after leaving there, but with his creativity and my knowledge of a few DIY tricks, we think we can make it happen within our budget! We are getting married at a gorgeous organic farm so the scenery speaks for itself and doesn't need much else added to it, allowing us to stick to our simple, natural way we'd like to decorate! Think lot's of hydrangeas (limelight and white), babys breath, mason jars, and galvonized buckets! I'll leave you with a few pictures I have used for inspiration in the floral department and hopefully everything will come together as we vision it in our minds!!

Hey y'all! Hope everyone had a great weekend! My fiance' and I enjoyed our weekend dining out with his parents and some great friends, before I sent him off yesterday afternoon for his last semester of college EVER! It was so hard to see him leave because he had been home for a whole month on break and I got used to having him here with me; seriously don't think there was a day we didn't see each other...what can I say, we are CRAZY about each other!!! Even though I get sad every time he leaves, this time was a bit easier because in 4 VERY short months, we will be married and together for life! Time is flying and I have lot's to do! Maybe I'll do a wedding update tomorrow!

Tonight I was invited to my good friend's (also one of my bridesmaids!!) boyfriends house to watch the Bama vs. Lsu National Championship game! I'm not really a fan of either team (Go Noles), but my friend here and a few others from high school went to Bama so I guess that will be who I root for! I made a yummy little snack for the football schindig that my mom typically makes around the holidays, but I figured it would be a good one for people to munch on! Here is the recipe below! Roll tide!

Muddy Buddies:

9 cups Chex cereal (I use the Rice Chex)
1 pkg (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips (1 cup)
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup margarine or butter ( I use Land O Lakes stick margarine)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Measure cereal in large mixing bowl & set aside. Microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and margarine in 1-quart microwavable glass bowl uncovered for 1 minute (I do 45 seconds cuz my micro is strong); stir. Microwave 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour chocolate mixture over cereal in bowl, stirring until evenly coated (carefully so as not to break up the Chex). I also let it cool for a couple of minutes before adding the powdered sugar. Pour into plastic bag (I use a Target bag and then put it into one more Target bag just in case there is a hole in one & the powdered sugar would fly everywhere)! Add powdered sugar to bag all over the Chex mix and close bag tightly at top with your hands; then shake around till all Chex is covered with pwderd sugar. Pour out onto parchment paper and let cool. Store in plastic container with cover.

Sweet, Colorful Fashion

For those of you who don't know, I have a love of fashion (probably the reason I have worked in that industry my whole life and got a degree in it)! I wanted to start posting my most recent favorite fashion finds, designers, boutiques or just what Im currently dreaming of having in my closet :) Today is definitely one of those "Im dreaming of having this in my closet one day" posts, but thought Id share with y'all so you could ooohhhh and ahhhh over it too! All of these lovely looks are from the ever so chic and feminine, Kate Spade!

I know this is just a t-shirt, but due to the fact that I have an incredibly large sweet tooth (that I wish I could just pull out), I kind of think I should own this :)

Colored jeans are SO in right now, and I just adore these "Broome Street Jeans" in red! Yes Please!!

These "Karolina" pumps are to die for! Love, Love, Love the green patent with the navy and white striped heel; it's such a fresh, preppy look!!

Can you tell that I love color, Im ready for spring, and any hint of girly/preppy details makes me swoon?? Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Bookworm Wednesday

I received this book over Christmas from my little brother (who knows how much I LOVE to read) and it is amazing so far! I'm only a quarter of the way into it, but it is SO fascinating and I'd already recommend it to any of you book lovers out there! Hope y'all are staying warm today because it's mighty chilly, especially for my southern blood!!

Happy New Year!

I still am in disbelief how fast time has flown and that today is actually the year 2012; it seems like just yesterday my fiance' proposed to me and now it's the year we are getting married! Lot's of exciting times ahead, but with that comes lot's to do!

I wanted to do a quick post today on a restaurant we took my mom to on Christmas Eve for her birthday! It's called The Olde Pink House and it is located on a very historic square in downtown Savannah. It was my first time dining there and the experience was wonderful! Not only was the food superb, but the atmosphere of the restaurant and the ambience was so charming, cozy and elegant! We had a Christmas tree in the room we dined in (which happened to be the living room of the old house), that gave off a subtle scent of frazier firs and there was a delightful warmth being emitted from the old fireplace! My mom LOVED it and it is a must for anyone visiting Savannah!

This is the outside of the restaurant and it is the oldest standing residence in Savannah!

My brothers and I with our sweet mom outside of the restaurant!

I borrowed this picture from someone else, but this the room that we dined in! Gorgeous, huh?!

Mom and I by the tree! She's the best mom ever :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful start to a fabulous year! This girl can't wait to be a Mrs. soon :))
