Strikin' My Fancy: Nautical Edition

~Forever 21 Relaxed Seashell Top-I am totally obsessed with the soft, beachy look this t-shirt emanates...I plan on pairing it with a pair of cobalt blue skinny jeans from JCrew or red shorts and at $6.80 (what a deal), you need to go and get this for yourself too. Like NOW!~

Happy Friday!! Today's post is a combination of items that I've recently purchased that were absolute steals and which all have a slightly nautical flare to them...I must have Summer and 4th of July on my mind!

The Mr and I are off again for the weekend to meet up with his family for a mini vacation. The plans include fishing, scalloping, eating, relaxing (aka reading and hopefully a heated game of Scrabble), and more fishing! Hope your weekend is quite sunny and filled with summer time activities!

~I'd definitely say I'm a lip gloss gal, but for the past year or two that bright red lips have been the thing, I've been itching to try the hot trend. Since I don't don lipstick all the time, I didn't want to spend a fortune, so I made a trip to Target and tried on a few shades before deciding on Neon Red by Maybelline. It is part of their new Vivid Collection and a beautiful shade of redish/coral that I've already worn quite a bit. At $5.54, this pop of color cost me nothing!~

~MAC and I recently purchased a pair of white adirondack chairs for our porch and I've been perusing shops and the internet for pillows to adorn them. I could not find anything I liked, until finally deciding to search Etsy where I found too many options; seriously, if you need pillows at an affordable price, Etsy is where it's at! I ended up purchasing these navy and white striped outdoor pillows from mmmadorable to stick with a classic, nautical look. I can't wait for them to arrive!~

Refreshing

"Rest in Me a while. You have journeyed up a steep, rugged path in recent days. The way ahead is shrouded in uncertainty. Look neither behind you nor in front of you. Instead, focus your attention on Me, your constant companion. Trust that I will equip you fully for whatever awaits you on your journey.
I designed time to be a protection for you. You couldn't bear to see all your life at once. Though I am unlimited by time, it is in the present moment that I meet you. Refresh yourself in My company, breathing deep draughts of My Presence. The highest level of trust is to enjoy Me moment by moment. I am with you, watching over you wherever you go."

Hope this helps you feel a little encouraged today. It's uplifting to me to know that God has my life in His hands and that I need not look to the past or future, but rest in His presence daily and find comfort in the fact that He has the absolute best and perfect plan for my life. Life can easily become overwhelming and weighted down with worries and anxiety, but when I take a moment to simply breathe and turn to my Creator, I am quickly reminded to trust Him and take things day by day.

Happy almost weekend y'all!

Bookworm Wednesday

As I stated last bookworm Wednesday, I ordered a few books off of Amazon and I decided to start reading Revenge Wears Prada first. I'm only a chapter in, but I'm hopeful the sequel is just as good as the first!

The Devil Wears Prada was one of my favorite movies and one of the few I actually own! I adored all the characters, the fashion, and the humorous anecdotes portrayed in the film. I didn't realize a movie sequel would be occurring too so I'm eagerly anticipating seeing that!

Happy Hump Day!

Wade Wedding: Part Two

Today's post features the remaining pictures I have (before my phone died) from the beautiful Wade wedding that was located at Southern Bridle Farms in Fort Valley, Georgia; if anyone is searching for a wedding venue, this place was just stunning and has the ceremony site situated directly next to the reception venue, a gorgeous cedar barn! Wish we could do it all over again, but for now, pictures will just have to do! Happy Tuesday!

P.S. These cute little things pictured below are my cousins twin daughters and I just had to snap a picture of their sweet faces since I don't see them that often!

Weekend Goings On: Wade Wedding Part One

Boy do I have the Monday blues after having the absolute BEST time celebrating the Wade wedding and visiting with my sweet grandma, aunt, uncle, and cousins. The weekend consisted of much laughing, catching up with family and dear friends (separated by many miles, but who immediately bounce back to the close friendships shared in college), plenty of good eating (my grandma cooked a scrumptious southern lunch), swimming, hours of dancing, which in turn provided much more laughter.

Weekends like this make it extremely hard to get back into the daily grind, but I guess it helps you appreciate the special time you had together and provides cause for anticipation for future get togethers (MAC and I are going to start planning the Blazer reunions y'all, starting with this October, so get excited). Hope you have a blessed Monday!

First Day of Summer

Mornin' Y'all! Though it's slightly overcast here in the "sunshine" state, I'm filled with giddyness over the fact that the Mr and I are heading out of town this afternoon to celebrate the marriage of a sweet couple and that it's officially Summertime! Woohoo!

For today's post I gathered up a few (or maybe a bunch) of pictures that brought to mind the meaning/image of Summer to me! Think cookouts with friends, long days spent at the beach, American flags, festive outfits for the 4th, oodles of watermelon, Lilly Pulitzer (this is a staple), stacks of summer reads, fishing trips with the hubs, baseball games (go Braves and my brother), and lighthearted/chill music for roadtrips and evening dinner parties (just discovered the music duo with Zooey Deschanel called She & Him and it is has officially become my favorite Pandora station).

What evokes the image of Summer to you? Cheers to the good ol' dog days y'all!
